FWPCOT3301 – Trim trees using a pole saw
This unit of competency describes the skills and knowledge required to use a fuel or battery powered pole saw to trim tree branches within safe height and angle limits.
It applies to individuals who operate pole saws to trim tree branches as part of arboriculture, forestry, agriculture, conservation and land management, local government, emergency services and other government agency operations.
This course covers how to identify the type of tree and assess the work environment for safety and stability. Plan the trim of a tree, taking into account the height of the branches and the reach of the pole saw.
Develop the skills to operate the pole saw and adjust your technique in response to the condition of the tree. Learn the importance of clearing cut branches from the site in line with operating procedures and environmental requirements.
The nationally recognised qualification FWPCOT3301 Trim trees using a pole saw, is delivered under a third-party agreement by V.E.T. Centre (QLD) on behalf of All States Training RTO #32577.
